Guitarist John Waterhouse , a long-time member of the Heavy Metal - Hard Rock band DEMON , has died at the age of 75.
The British musician's death has been confirmed by the group itself, which shared this message on its social media:
"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of DEMON legend John Waterhouse, just days after his birthday . He was surrounded by his loved ones...
John was a huge part of the DEMON family, playing on six
studio albums and contributing his signature sound to classic albums like
Breakout and Taking the World by Storm... Rest in Peace, John, and enjoy a jam
with Mal... Time Has Come!
Waterhouse was a member of DEMON from 1984 to 1994, during
which time he recorded numerous albums with the band. His notable works
include:
British Standard Approved - 1985
Heart of Our Time - 1985
Demon (EP) - 1986
Breakout - 1987
Taking the World by Storm - 1989
One Helluva Night (live album) - 1990
Hold On to the Dream - 1991
Blow-Out – 1992
DEMON celebrated 45 years in 2024, releasing their fourteenth studio album, " Invincible ," the follow-up to 2016's "Cemetery Junction."
" Dave Hill 's raspy, soulful vocals may have been the common denominator since the band's early days, but DEMON is arguably one of the few bands that has managed to maintain its signature sound over the years and update it for the new century, while maintaining a taste for a mysterious image and elegant music."
DEMON originally formed part of the New Wave of British
Heavy Metal movement , although they gradually incorporated elements of Hard
Rock and Progressive Rock after their first two albums. They debuted in 1981
with the album "Night of the Demon" and have maintained a steady
career throughout the years, except for a hiatus between 1994 and 1996.
