Actor Mike Minor has died at the age of 75. Minor passed
away on Monday, January 25 and is best known for his role as Steve Elliot on
the classic television comedy "Petticoat Junction" according to a
Monday, February 1 report from the Soap Opera Network.
Following his stint on " Petticoat Junction,"
Minor continued his acting career on the daytime soap circuit with memorable
roles on daytime's "All My Children" as Brandon Kingsley and "
Another World's Dr. Royal Dunning.
In addition to “AMC” and “AW,” Minor also had brief stints
on “As The World Turns” and “The Edge of Night" along with television
credits in episodes of “The Beverly Hillbillies,” “My Three Sons,” "CHiPS," "Vega$" and “L.A.
Law,” among others. Minor was also a singer whose album “This Is Mike Minor”
was released in 1966; he also turned out successful singles including “Silver
Dollar” and One Day at a Time. He sang repeatedly on “Petticoat Junction.”
The cause of Mike Minor's death was reported by MeTV as
cancer, but Minor's family has recently informed the network that the
information is not correct. He reportedly had one child with first wife Monyeen
Rae Martini. No further information is available, at this time. Among Minor’s
survivors are his stepmother, Yvonne Lime Fedderson, co-founder of the
Childhelp organization, for the prevention and treatment of child abuse. Rest
in peace Mike Minor.
