Elta Blake obit

Elta Blake(1948-2024)

She was not on the list.

Elta Blake was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and is an alumnus of the University of Texas at Austin. While appreciative of her roots, and thoroughly entertained by three generations of charmingly eccentric family members, she has lived most of her adult life in other parts of the country.

Following graduation, she spent several years acting in New York City before settling in Los Angeles, where she established an early career in prime-time television. It was during this stage that she met the man she would marry and, with the birth of her daughter, shifted her focus to writing.

Her first effort was a screenplay. Though it never made it to production, the script was optioned by several sets of producers—for over a decade—until she pulled it off the market to rewrite it as a book.

It's called Madder Blue. The manuscript is now complete at 83,878 words. And she is currently seeking representation.

Elta Blake was born on March 24, 1948 in Dallas, Texas, USA. She was an actress, known for The Rockford Files (1974), The Fall Guy (1981) and Quincy, M.E. (1976). She died on November 14, 2024 in the USA.
