David McLeod Dies: Longtime Disney Syndication Executive Was 62
He was not on the list.
David McLeod, a syndication and content sales executive whose career at Disney spanned 35 years including 25 running the studio’s Chicago syndication office, died May 4 in Downers Grove, Illinois, following complications from an undiagnosed illness. He was 62.
His death was announced by his family.
Having grown up in Madison, Wisconsin, McLeod graduated UM-Madison, with a degree in communications specializing in radio, TV and film.
Two months after graduation, he relocated to Los Angeles where he briefly worked at Lorimar Productions before landing a research assistant position with The Walt Disney Company.
Over his 35 years with Disney, McLeod relocated three more times – to Atlanta, Dallas and finally Chicago, where he was Senior Vice President, Broadcast Syndication – Midwest Region, prior to his retirement in 2021.
In addition to wife Katy and their three children Zachary McLeod, Daniel McLeod and Ansley Jessessky and their spouses, McLeod is survived by father Dr. Paul McLeod, three grandchildren and other extended family.
