PAUL GRIST 1939-2026

Paul Grist (18 January 1939 – January 2026) was a Welsh actor, car racer and restorer.

Grist trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), being taught by Peter Barkworth and graduating in 1960.

Giving up acting in the early 1980s, Grist went on to become a restorer of vintage cars, notably Alfa Romeos and Maseratis. With his son Matt, they raced these cars in historic events.

Grist died in January 2026, shortly before his 87th birthday

Grist was born on January 18, 1939 in Glamorgan, Wales, UK. He is an actor, known for Kidnapped (1978), Doctor Who (1963) and The Avengers (1961). He has been married to Marjorie L. Mottram since 1962. They have two children.
