Simon Fisher-Becker dies aged 63

 

He was not on the list.

Simon Fisher-Becker, a cherished British actor whose vibrant presence and versatile talent left an indelible mark on stage, screen and the hearts of fans worldwide has died, aged 63.

On March 9, 2025, news of his passing was shared by his husband via a poignant announcement on Facebook.

Born on November 25, 1961, in London, Simon Fisher-Becker carved out a remarkable performing career, specialising in comedy and character roles that showcased his unique charisma and depth. In 2006, he married Anthony Dugdale, a partnership that grounded him amidst his busy career.

A public motivational speaker and writer, he also penned a trilogy of self-deprecating memoirs, My Dalek Has a Puncture, My Dalek Has Another Puncture, and Let Zygons Be Zygons.

Fisher-Becker also appeared as the ghost the Fat Friar in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001). His filmography also included Les Misérables (2012) and the BBC comedy Puppy Love.

The passing of Simon Fisher-Becker marks a heartfelt loss for fans and the entertainment community alike. He leaves behind a legacy of talent and kindness.
