Funeral services for Mr. Cecil Ray Mills, age 89, of Sarepta, LA will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, LA, with Wesley Woolley officiating. Interment will follow in the Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 16, 2026, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Mr. Mills was born on March 11, 1937 to William Joseph and Florence Mills in Haynesville, LA and passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 in Bossier City, LA. Ray was the lead guitarist of the band The Uniques from 1963-1970. They were inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 1991. He also enjoyed training Tennessee walking horses.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Jeanette Dick Mills of Sarepta, LA; three sons, Dennis Ray (Tammi) Mills of Sarepta, LA, Kenneth Randall (Julie) Mills of Plain Dealing, LA, Michael Alan (Gayla) Mills of Bossier City, LA; seven grandchildren, Whitney (Wesley) Woolley of White Hall, AR, Kody Mills of Minden, LA, Lindsey (Jeff) Schuler of Bossier City, LA, Lauren (Fernando) Rugerio of Shreveport, LA, Chase (Shelby) Mills of Owasso, OK, Micaela (T. J.) Markham of Benton, LA, Mallory (Michael) Williams of Benton, LA; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Mr. Mills was preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph Mills and Florence Allen Mills; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Chase Mills, Jeff Schuler, Fernando
Rugerio, Michael Williams, T. J. Markham and Isaac Woolley. Honorary pallbearers will be Kody Mills,
Sawyer Schuler, Sutton Schuler, Everett Rugerio, Joe Stampley, Mike Love, Jim
Woodfield and Morris Wayne McClary.
