Paul Avery, an actor who appeared in All My Children, and his wife Sheila died in a house fire on Tuesday.
Shortly after 12:38am, New Jersey State Police and Blairstown Fire Department responded to a blaze at the couple’s home on Mohican Road, where they were trapped inside, according to Leigh Valley Live.
The outlet reported that rescuers pulled the victims from the fire but they later died from their injuries.
Paul and Sheila’s daughter Kyle Avery confirmed the news of
her parents’ death in a Facebook post on Tuesday. “I’m devastated to share that
our parents, Paul and Sheila Garry Avery, passed away early this morning,” she
wrote.
“We loved them so much, and they loved us so much, and nobody ever had to wonder if that was so,” added Kyle. “We’re grateful to the Blairstown Fire Department for their efforts. Service plans to follow.”
In addition to his role as Hughie on two episodes of All My
Children in the ’80s, Paul Avery also appeared in Superman (1978), as well as
episodes of Three’s Company, Soap and Tales from the Dark Side.
