Actress Andria Lawrence has passed away at the age of 89. She died on 17 November 2025, but it has only recently been announced publicly.

Many will remember her as “Turnaround Betty” in On the Buses, as well as her appearance in Coronation Street as Janet Stockwell. She became a familiar face in some of Britain’s most loved comedies and sitcoms of the ’60s and ’70s, often bringing a cheeky charm to every role she took on.

Andria also appeared in classics like For the Love of Ada, Man About the House, the Hammer film Countess Dracula, and Ken Loach’s powerful drama Cathy Come Home. Away from the screen, she even turned her hand to writing, publishing her novel The Olive Tree in 2016.

A memorable talent from a golden era of British TV and film.
