ROBERT LOVETT Obituary
He was not on the list.
LOVETT--Robert Quincy, age 95, of Katonah, NY, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2022 from just getting old. When asked how he had become an accomplished film editor, he always said the trick was to fail at something else. In his case, he started as a clarinet player - jazz, of course. The rhythms of film and music fit his talents very well. Having put off everything else in his life like exercising and hydrating, he also put off dying. He leaves an adoring wife, Lynn, sister Nancy Debella, niece Toni and nephews Paul and Wayne. And a raft of friends addicted to his humor.
He was nominated at the 57th Academy Awards in the category of Best Film Editing for his work on The Cotton Club. He also participated in the Festival De Cannes for A Bronx Tale, directed by Robert De Niro in 2011. He worked on over 30 films and TV shows from 1963 to 2006.
