Wondress Hutchinson, better known simply as Wondress, who wowed fans in 1990 with her electric vocal performance on the song “Got To Have Your Love,” working with funk group Mantronix. She was 56, and the cause of death is unknown.
If that song got the name Wondress out there, her work with other artists continued the love and respect for her among her peers. In addition to performing regularly around the world on her own, Wondress worked with Spyro Gyra and DJ Spen, among others over the years.
Wondress Hutchinson was never a household name, but her singing was just terrific. And we’ll all be continuing to groove to her great music for years to come. Rest in Peace, Wondress.
