Archie G. Matsos, East Lansing - 86, Passed away on May 28, 2021, at Robinwood Landing, in Lansing, Michigan. Archie was born in Detroit, Michigan, to George and Maria Matsos, on November 22, 1934. He was a multi-sport standout at Detroit's Redford High School. Archie went on to become an outstanding linebacker at Michigan State University from 1954-1958, where he obtained his Bachelor's in Economics. He later played for four NFL teams, for over seven years; the Buffalo Bills, Oakland Raiders, Denver Broncos, and the San Diego Chargers. During his career, he was on the Sporting News All-AFL team of 1960 and 1963; AFL Eastern Division All-Star in 1961 and 1962. Archie was well known among the MSU sports community, and the MSU Football Players Association. Matsos joined the Raiders after three years with Buffalo. He played in 40 regular season games and recorded 9 interceptions for 141 yards.

Archie was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Harry Matsos; and sister, Katherine G. Matsos. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Interment took place Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens, in Novi, Michigan.
