Former USC Halfback Ken Del Conte Dies

Ken Del Conte, a halfback on the 1962 USC national championship team, has died. He was 78.

Del Conte was a versatile player who was the third-leading receiver on the 1962 team, returned punts and kickoffs and was awarded the game ball after a 14-0 victory over Washington.

He was also known for his blocking on USC teams that featured star tailback Willie Brown.

He played the third-most minutes of any player in the 1962 team. He was a prep All-American at Morningside High School in Inglewood.

After USC, Del Conte had a long career in Hollywood as an actor, director and producer. He had acting parts in Batman, Bonanza, Charlie’s Angels, CHiPS, Cagney and Lacey and Falcon Crest.
