Burt Richards' career as a professional actor started in 1964 with many appearances and leading roles on the Off-Broadway stage, films and TV commercials in New York. His move to Florida in 1972, gave him the outlet to be more active with many stage appearances, films, and television commercial & series work seen the world over, plus being sought after as being one of South Florida's busiest actors for over 35 years. He created a Travel & Theatre review column called 'Theatre Happenings, Adventures In Entertainment & Quips From the Stars'. A syndicated column published in South Florida for the past 22 Years, seen in many local newspapers and magazines. His special Celebrity Features appear in the Boomer & Senior times on a monthly basis, published in Bioca Raton, Florida.
He later devoted time towards his writing and reviewing theatre in his column and the celebrities he encounters on a personal level, and lends his theatrical articles and comments for readers to enjoy. Richards had an extensive collection on Presidents, Politicians and stories to go with each photo he received, from Margaret Thatcher, Tony Blair, to Prince Rainier. Plus a huge collection of autographed photos of the world famous celebrities and letters from Julie Harris, Ed Asner, Lee Meriwether, Burt Lancaster, Leona Helmsly, Jimmy Stewart, Stacy Keach and many others.
Richards was a Carbonell award-winning producer presenting some wonderful shows, Hit Tunes From Flop Shows, Dam Yankees, 110 In The Shade and Nite Club Confidential, Broadway's Best Musical Hits From Forgotten Shows and The Sinatra Song Book. Upon retirement from the stage as an actor, he spent more time with print and commercials, special musical shows and he established a radio show on W.D.B.F. and W.I.N.N. featuring Theatre Happenings for the weekend. He is also listed in Who's Who In Entertainment. He has featured celebrities with his stories on their lives that include the late great Bob Hope, Jane Russell, Don Rickles, Ed Asner, Jayne Meadows, Carroll Baker, Judge Judy, Wayne Newton, Irving R. Levine, Karl Malden, Dionne Warwick, Eli Wallach, Anne Jackson, Julie Ann Harris, Rona Barrett Stacy Keach.
