Bart and Brad were trained by Angelo Poffo and his sons, Randy Savage and Lanny Poffo, before beginning their careers in International Championship Wrestling. They later became regulars in Central States, working against teams including The Midnight Rockers, Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty, as well as combinations featuring Akio Sato and Sheik Abdullah the Great.

The Batten Twins also spent significant time with the World Wrestling Council in Puerto Rico, where they held the WWC World Tag Team and Caribbean Tag Team championships. Bart later appeared for Smoky Mountain Wrestling, WCW and independent promotions before retiring in 2005. Brad died in 2014 following a heart attack, leaving Bart as the surviving member of the team for more than a decade.
