Dinah Christie obit

Canadian actress, Party Game star Dinah Christie dies at 83

She was not on the list.

The Canadian actress and singer Dinah Barbara Christie, known for her 1970s charades game show Party Game on CHCH-TV and the sitcom Check It Out has died.

A post on her social media page late Sunday night says Christie died Friday at the age of 83.

Christie moved to Canada from England when she was two-years-old.

She started performing on stage in 1961, and joined the CBC four years later.

She won an ACTRA Award in 1981 for best variety performance for her work on the D.C. and Friends TV special.

Both she and her lifelong creative partner Tom Kneebone won an ACTRA Award for best radio variety performers, and Christie won the 1987 Gemini Award for best actress in a continuing series for Check It Out.

Christie’s obituary says over the last few years she was receiving care at the Kensington Gardens nursing home as dementia crept in, and was surrounded by “safety and warmth.”

She is survived by her sister, two brothers and her grandchild.

Her family asks in lieu of flowers to send donations to The Toronto Humane Society or to a local animal rescue.
