The Bronx: A tragic incident unfolded when Peter Forrest, a 64-year-old musician, was found dead in his ambulette. Known as P. Fluid, he was a key figure in the music scene, especially for Black rock artists.
Forrest was part of the band 24-7 Spyz, which blended various genres and gained recognition in the late ’80s. His former girlfriend, Chiedza Maconnen, shared how passionate he was about music and promoting Black musicians in rock.
They had a deep connection, having met when she was visiting from Chicago. Their relationship spanned years, filled with love and shared experiences. Maconnen described him as fun-loving and always the life of the party.
After his time with 24-7 Spyz, he continued to create music, forming new bands and projects. His work often reflected his political views and commitment to activism.
Forrest’s love for New York was evident; he was a true New Yorker at heart. Sadly, he was last heard from on Monday morning, and when coworkers grew concerned, they tracked his ambulette to a location where he was found deceased.
