BRANDON SMITH
08/13/1952 - 10/27/2023
Houston actor, Brandon Smith, passed away peacefully on October 27th with his wife of 34 years by his side.
Brandon was born on August 13th, 1952, to parents Thaddeus
Smith Jr. and Chris Wilson and was raised on a ranch near Barker/ Katy along
with brothers 'Dutch' and 'Bo'. At the age of nine he served an internship
under Nina Vance at the 'old' Alley Theatre and went on to train at the East 15
Acting School in London, England; the Old Vic Theatre School in Bristol,
England; and the Jacques Lecoq School of Mime and Theatre in Paris, France.
Brandon was a professional actor his entire career and
appeared in over 100 film and television projects and acted in or directed over
300 plays. He was also a gifted teacher and taught and inspired many. Although
he worked throughout the US, England, Australia and Canada he was always proud
to call Texas home.
Brandon is survived by his wife Kate Revnell-Smith, son Theo Wardley-Cresser (husband Marc), daughter Tempest Miskell (husband Billy and grandson Liam), and son Thaddeus Smith. He is also survived by big brother Thaddeus 'Bo' Smith III (wife Josanna, their daughters Melani and Rachell, and granddaughter Brynlie Chesnut), his UK family, brother Will Smith (daughters Isobelle and Billie) and sister Kelly Smith, and a wealth of extended family and friends in the US and abroad. He is predeceased by both parents, brother Christopher 'Dutch' Smith and his beloved stepfather Jim Jeter. His family would like to offer our sincerest gratitude to all the staff at UTMB Galveston and Choice Hospice for their grace and kindness. A celebration of Brandon's life will be held at a later time. His care has been entrusted to Claire Brothers Funeral Home, 7901 Hillcroft St., Houston, Texas 77081.
