Leo Fong Death – Obituary News; Since the early 1970s, Chinese-American actor, martial artist, boxer, and former Methodist clergyman Leo Fong has been making films, performing in them, and directing them. Fong tragically died on February 18, 2022.

In the year 1928, Fong was born in the Xinhui neighborhood of Jiangmen, in the province of Guangzhou. Fong moved to Seattle with his mom and brothers not long after. They were imprisoned for a period of time, as was customary for Asian immigrants. The family moved to Chicago after being released in Seattle, where Fong’s maternal uncle owned a restaurant and his father had been promised job.

Fong’s father collected enough money working at the restaurant to buy a modest grocery shop in Widener, Arkansas, a tiny agricultural village. Fong was subjected to racial slurs at school, which frequently resulted in fights. At the age of 15, Fong began boxing.

Fong obtained a B.A. in physical education from Hendrix College in Arkansas after graduating from Forrest City High School. Southern Methodist University awarded him a master’s degree in theology. He got a Master of Social Work from California State University, Sacramento, after beginning his career as a Methodist minister. Fong stayed in Northern California to further his martial arts education.

Judo and jiu jitsu were his first forays into eastern martial arts in the 1950s. Fong studied and performed a variety of martial arts techniques before creating his own, Wei Kuen Do.

Fong was a buddy of Bruce Lee, who arranged for him to appear on the cover of Black Belt magazine’s 10th-anniversary edition.

Murder In The Orient (1974), a Filipino martial arts exploitation film co-starring Ron Marchini and starring Eva Reyes and Rodolfo ‘Boy’ Garcia, was his first film. He played alongside Filipino actors George Estregan, Chanda Romero, Eddie Garcia, Rez Cortez, and Ron van Clief in the 1975 film Bamboo Trap.

Fong has been writing, directing, and producing movies since the late 1970s. Cameron Mitchell, Hope Holiday, and Stack Pierce appeared in several of his films from the 1970s through the mid-1980s.

Transformed, a 2005 film with Christian themes and an anti-drug message starring Tadashi Yamashita and Fred Williamson, is a relatively recent film of his. He had appeared in a picture with Williamson for the second time. Blind Rage, a 1978 film about a group of blind men who rob a bank, was the first.
