John Garwood was born on August 19, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York, USA as Gabriel Dellutri. He was an actor, director and producer.

Garwood appeared in various heart-pounding, action-packed films over the course of his Hollywood career. Garwood began his acting career in action flicks like "Hell's Angels on Wheels" (1967) starring Adam Roarke, "The Savage Seven" (1968) with Robert Walker Jr. and Adam Roarke and "The Losers" (1970). He also appeared in "Evel Knievel" (1971) starring George Hamilton. He also appeared in the TV movie "The Feminist and the Fuzz" (ABC, 1970-71). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like the action picture "Cleopatra Jones" (1973) with Tamara Dobson, the Alan Arkin comedy "Freebie and the Bean" (1974) and the Adam Roarke comedy "How Come Nobody's on Our Side?" (1975). He also appeared in "The Zebra Force" (1976) with Mike Lane, the drama "The Stunt Man" (1980) with Peter O'Toole and the Charles Bronson action film "10 to Midnight" (1983). Garwood continued to exercise his talent in the eighties and the nineties, taking on a mix of projects like "Murder, She Wrote" (CBS, 1984-1996), "Starchaser: The Legend of Orin" (1985) and "Crackdown" (1989). His credits also expanded to "Violent Zone" (1989), "Cool People/Hot Places" and "NYPD Blue" (1993-2005). Garwood most recently appeared on "Sex/Life in L.A." (1998) with Matt Bradshaw.
