Financial Issues Founder & Host Dan Celia Passes Away After Battling Long-Term Illness

He was not on the list.

Dan Celia, president and CEO of Financial Issues Stewardship Ministries (FISM) and host of the nationally syndicated radio and television program Financial Issues, passed away Wednesday.

Celia's ministry confirmed that he was "now in the arms of Jesus" after battling a lengthy illness.

Celia served in the U.S. military during the 1970s, then worked for 35 years as a successful entrepreneur and businessman. He started eight corporations and was co-founder of two others. Celia started a part-time radio ministry in 1997 which expanded to become FISM. He sold his trust company in 1999.

In a message posted on Facebook, Celia's wife Yvonne shared that her husband was no longer suffering and in his eternal home with the Lord.

"While we deeply grieve over Dan's passing, we rejoice that he is now with His Lord and Savior Whom he loved and served so well," she said.

Financial Issues Live hosted "A Tribute to Dan" on Friday, allowing people from around the world to call into the three-hour program to share their memories of Celia.

Many offered encouragement to Yvonne, daughters Jeanne (husband Kae), Ann (husband Matt), and their eight grandchildren, through prayer and scripture.

Comments from friends, FISM partners, sponsors, and listeners were powerful and heartwarming:

"Dan was larger than life and all about Jesus."

"Dan's passing is a sunset on earth and a sunrise in Heaven."

"There was a comfort knowing Dan was here—fighting for our country, fighting for the Lord, always fighting for what was right. He was and always will be one of the greatest examples of courage, boldness, truth, and strength. He inspired us all."

One listener remembered Dan telling him, "Make sure I see you at the 'Pearly Gates.'"

During the show, many recalled one of Celia's favorite sayings, "It's all God's anyway," when he spoke about stewardship of finances.

Before his passing, Celia offered a touching description of his life:

"My greatest blessings worth talking about have been coming to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as a result of Charles Stanley's ministry, my marriage, children, grandchildren, receiving my second Master's Degree in theology, being ordained in 2001, and my service in the military from 1971 to 1977. Beyond that, the rest is insignificant."

Dan developed and used a biblically-responsible system of financial management with great success. He started a radio ministry in 1997 as a part time ministry and has seen the Lord expand and bless this ministry to his current full-time ministry. Dan has interviewed newsmakers and pundits like Steve Forbes, Ben Stein, T. Boone Pickens, Tony Perkins, John Alison, Rayola Dougher API, Congressmen, Senators and Presidential candidates. He was proud of his partnership with the American Family Association where he serves as a board member.

Dan was on over 640 stations three hours daily, NRB TV, BizTV, Dove TV and CBN Life Style Network. Financial Issues is heard in every state in America and throughout the internet globally. Financial Issues has supporters from over 17 countries. Dan is a Regular Weekly Contributor to Townhall.com (the number 1 source for conservative news and analyzation). Dan has been a guest on Fox Business, Bloomberg, Salem Radio, Family Net, 700 Club, and many others . He is a conference speaker, author of six books, publishes a weekly newsletter and has been Executive Producer of several video productions and FISM TV is producing original family friendly content and other video projects all keeping with in FISM’s Christian world view.

Tom Parker, The Wanted Singer, Dies at 33 After Battling Brain Cancer

"Tom was the centre of our world and we can't imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence," his wife wrote.

He was not on the list.

Tom Parker of The Wanted has died at 33 after a long fight with brain cancer, his wife, Kelsey Hardwick, confirmed via Instagram on Wednesday.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side,” she captioned a black and white photo of the singer. “Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence. We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children. Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout, he fought until the very end. I’m forever proud of you.”

Parker — who rose to fame after The Wanted found success in 2012 with singles “Glad You Came” and “Chasing the Sun” — publicly shared his battle with brain cancer and revealed in October 2020 that he was diagnosed with the illness. On Nov. 4, Parker updated his Instagram followers on his condition and reported that his latest brain scan came back as stable.

“We had the results from my latest scan…and I’m delighted to say it is STABLE,” he shared. “Such a mix of emotions. We couldn’t ask for any more really at this point; a year or so in to this journey. Honestly over the moon. We can sleep a little easier tonight. Thank you for all your love and support over the last 12+ months.”

The “Glad You Came” singer was due to release a book about his cancer battle titled Hope, which he said is meant to be about finding the positive moments even in the darkest of times. “It’s a book about living,” Parker wrote on March 21. “It’s a book about finding hope in whatever situation you’re dealt, and living your best life no matter what. It will show you how having faith in hope and daring to dream means you can carry on, against all odds.”

Parker is survived by Hardwick and their two children — Aurelia Rose Parker and Bodhi Thomas Paris Parker.

Tributes following death of Natty Wailer

Wynter passed away March 30.

He was not on the list.

Tributes have been paid following the death of Nathaniel Ian Wynter, also known as Natty Wailer, a Jamaican-born musician and Rastafarian best known for his work with Bob Marley and the Wailers and others, who sadly passed away following a long illness.

Wynter, who is credited on recordings as Natty Wailer, Ian Winter, Ian Wynter, or Brother Ian with the likes of Aston Barrett and King Tubby, moved to Ireland, and Co Monaghan specifically in 2000, from where he became a familiar face to Irish music fans, playing at festivals across the country.

In latter years Wynter moved to Wexford.

He continued to tour and record with his band the Reggae Vibes, with whom he released two albums, Lifted (2000) and Destiny (2013). he also collaborated with a variety of local Irish acts.

In a 2012 interview with The Anglo-Celt, Wynter treated the interviewer to an impromptu outburst of the Marley classic ‘Jammin’, his aim not to impress, but rather to interact.

Natty’s broad Jamaican accent boomed down the phone in sentences littered with missing syllables, dripping with Caribbean warmth and just a sneaking hint of Irish intonation. “The world is my stage, but on stage I am not the star”, he admits. “The audience is there with me but we are not the stars. It is the reggae music that stars the show and I am but a vessel through which the love of reggae music flows.”

He said of his life in Ireland: “This is now my home. I feel compelled, I feel inspired to be in Ireland, to travel around playing reggae music. Teaching people how to play reggae music and spread the word of love and harmony through my music across this beautiful country.”

After being diagnosed with lung cancer four years before, he had been battling his illness quietly.

Wynter returned to his native Jamaica. He passed away March 30.

R.I.P. Paul Herman, Crime Movie Stalwart Who Played Beansie on The Sopranos Dead at 76

He was not on the list.

The post R.I.P. Paul Herman, Crime Movie Stalwart Who Played Beansie on The Sopranos Dead at 76 appeared first on Consequence.

Paul Herman, a stalwart presence in Martin Scorsese’s films who charmed audiences as Beansie on The Sopranos, has died on his 76th birthday.

His death was confirmed by former The Sopranos cast mate Michael Imperioli. “Our friend and colleague PAUL HERMAN has passed away,” Imperioli wrote. “Paulie was just a great dude. A first class storyteller and raconteur and one hell of an actor. Goodfellas, Once Upon a Time in America, The Irishman and of course The Sopranos are some highlights. Paulie lived around the corner from me the last few years and I am glad we got to spend some time together before he left us. I’ll miss him. Lots of love to his family, friends and our community of actors and filmmakers.” No cause of death has been made public.

Born March 29th, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York, Herman first entered the world of crime movies as Monkey in Sergio Leone’s 1984 gangster epic Once Upon a time in America starring Robert De Niro. He would play opposite De Niro many times throughout his career, though not always on the same side of the law.

Herman first worked with Scorsese as a background player in 1986’s The Color of Money, and he earned a somewhat more substantial part as Philip the Apostle in 1988’s The Last Temptation of Christ. He went on to play a dealer in Goodfellas (1990), a gambler in Casino (1995), and most recently, Whispers DiTullio in The Irishman (2019).

But he will be best remembered as Peter ‘Beansie’ Gaeta, a former heroin dealer who owned a club and pizza shop on The Sopranos. The character received a memorable beatdown in the Season 2 episode “Toodle-Fu****-Oo,” which left him in a wheelchair, but  hewould return for several more episodes.

Herman also worked consistently in the world of comedy, booking small parts in Woody Allen movies (The Purple Rose of Cairo, Radio Days, Bullets over Broadway), as well as a recurring role on HBO’s Entourage as Vincent Chase’s accountant, Marvin.

His passing was mourned on Twitter by his Sopranos and Goodfellas costar Lorraine Bracco. “The one & only,” she wrote. A loving soul with a great sense of humor, Paulie Herman. REST IN PEACE.”
