HGTV’s Frank Cozzolino Dies: ‘Holmes On Homes’ Electrician Star Was 56

He was not on the list.

Frank Cozzolino, known for starring on HGTV‘s Holmes on Homes, has died. He was 56.

The electrician was featured on the home renovation series alongside Mike Holmes, who confirmed the news on social media.

“I am devastated by the passing of my good friend Frank Cozzolino,” Holmes shared on Instagram. “Frank made us better. His impact will live on in every home he helped.”

He continued, “Frank could walk into the toughest electrical disaster, crack a joke in his style, and suddenly the whole room felt lighter. That’s just who he was.”

HGTV also released a statement following news of Cozzolino’s death, saying, “We are deeply saddened to hear of Frank Cozzolino’s passing. Frank was an exceptional craftsman whose kindness, integrity and unwavering dedication touched every project and every person he encountered.”

Holmes later shared a follow up post where he talked about Cozzolino’s health issues.

“Frank has gone through hell,” Holmes said. “I mean he’s had a liver six years ago, that liver failed, he had to go in and get another liver. It was touch and go, we thought for sure that he wasn’t going to make it, and he came back.”

Holmes added, “And all of a sudden due to complications, he has passed away Dec. 4. With great sadness from all my family, my friends and everyone that he’s helped. He will be sadly missed.”

Cozzolino was featured across multiple episodes of Holmes Family Rescue Season 1 in 2022. In the series, Cozzolino opened up about health issues relating to his liver and undergoing a liver transplant. At the time, he had made changes to his life and bought a home that needed renovations. Cozzolino’s daughters, Alexandria and Filomena, called on Holmes to help with the home renovations as their father was still recovering from the surgery.

“About 10 years ago, I was diagnosed with a very rare liver disease,” Cozzolino said in the 2022 episode. “I was basically told I had five years left on this liver. You need a liver or you’re going to die. It was like a truck had hit me.”

Cozzolino added that he made an “exit plan,” downsizing his company and his home. He would find out he got a matching donor and eventually got a transplant, saying, “Here I am in ICU and accepting that reality that I lived.”
