Atlanta rapper Trouble shot, killed, deputies name suspect
He was not on the list.
Atlanta rapper Trouble has died, according to his record label. The rapper, whose real name was Mariel Semonte Orr, was 34.
According to the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office, Orr was shot around 3:20 a.m. Sunday morning at the Lake St. James Apartment complex at 50 St. James Drive in Conyers.
Deputies say they arrived on the scene and found Orr lying on the ground. He was shot once in the chest and was pronounced dead on the scene.
No arrests have been made, but warrants have been obtained for 33-year-old Jamichael Jones, charging him with murder.
Def Jam, the label Trouble was signed with, posted a statement on Instagram on Sunday announcing his death.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the children, loved ones, and fans of Trouble. A true voice for his city and an inspiration to the community he proudly represented. RIP Scoob🙏🏾,” the label posted.
Investigators say Orr was visiting a female friend at the apartment complex when he was shot.

Orr and Jones did not know one another, but police say Jones was involved in a “domestic situation” with the woman Orr was visiting.
In April 2011, Trouble released his debut mixtape December 17th, which was placed at number 23 on Complex magazine's The 25 Best Mixtapes of 2011. The mixtape included the song "Bussin,'" which featured rappers Yo Gotti, Waka Flocka Flame and Trae tha Truth on the remix. In August 2011, Complex included Trouble in its "15 New Rappers To Watch Out For" list. In 2013, he was also included in XXL magazine's "15 Atlanta Rappers You Should Know" list.
In 2015, Trouble appeared on Lupe Fiasco's album Tetsuo & Youth, along with Glasses Malone, Trae tha Truth, Billy Blue, Buk and Fam-Lay in the track "Chopper."[citation needed]
In 2016, Trouble appeared on rapper YFN Lucci's single "Key to the Streets," which peaked at number 70 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In March 2016, Trouble and labelmate Veli Sosa filmed a music video in North Carolina titled "Straight Out" from his 2016 mixtape Skoobzilla and "Like A" which featured ReeseDaGreat, who is also signed to DTE. The videos were filmed by director LookImHD and guest starred Big Bank Black as a cameo in the videos, a snippet of which was later posted on Instagram.
In 2017, Trouble signed a record deal with Mike Will Made It's record label, Ear Drummer Records and Interscope Records.
