Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Ryan MacDonald Dead at 89 – DOOL, Y&R and GH Alum Remembered
He was not on the list.
Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that there’s some somber news to pass along about the death of one NBC soap alum. DOOL fans may remember Ryan MacDonald for his role as Scotty Banning back in the early ‘70s. Sadly, the 89-year-old actor passed away back in February. Days viewers send their love to MacDonald’s family and friends as they continue to mourn.
If MacDonald’s role as Scotty was before your time or your memory’s just a bit fuzzy, you might remember one of his more recent roles. It’s common for soaps to feature the same actor in multiple parts, so MacDonald returned for more appearances. MacDonald portrayed a shady lawyer at one point along with the role of Chauncey Powell from 1991-1992.
Of course, MacDonald was also featured in some other daytime dramas, so let’s look at some of those. The Young and the Restless viewers may recall MacDonald’s brief stint as Robert Haskell in 1989. MacDonald also played on General Hospital as Phillip Harper in 1982. Santa Barbara fans may also remember MacDonald’s 1987 appearances as Dr. Gorkhill.
As for film and primetime roles, MacDonald left behind quite a list of credits! He was featured on classic shows like The Odd Couple, Lassie, The Facts of Life, Colombo and Newhart. MacDonald’s most recent work was in 2012. He played Detective Lyle Eszchuk in a gripping drama called Crimes of Mike Recket.
This is a tough loss for the soap world as well as the film and television industry, but MacDonald’s memory will live on through his impressive work. MacDonald will certainly be missed! We’ll keep bringing you all the latest Days news and updates, so be sure to pop back in soon.
As for what’s ahead in Salem, Days of Our Lives spoilers say this summer will pack in plenty of action. There’ll be some epic weddings along with some shockers that’ll turn worlds upside down. DOOL viewers will definitely want to stay tuned for all the chaos.
There’ll be some can’t-miss episodes and stunning
cliffhangers as several storylines heat up. CDL will have lots of other Days of
Our Lives spoilers, updates and news posts to check out, so stick with us.
