Paul F. Vombrack, 84 of Willow Lake Estates, Elgin passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at Sherman Hospital. Paul worked for 45 years in filmmaking. During his career he worked as a cameraman for Channel 7 and Channel 9 news; a movie cinematographer and did many TV commercials and sporting events. He filmed Harry Caray on the job, Michael Jordan on the court, The Blues Brothers, Home Alone, Groundhog Day, The Getaway and Cooley High to mention a few. Surviving are his wife, Joy, his children Donna (Doug) Fulford, Roy (Jennifer) Vombrack, Scott (Tina) Egger, Gary (Sally) Egger and Cathy (Keith) Clark, grandchildren, Kara, Abby, Ben, Dylan, Jim, Carissa, Shannon, Drew, Jessica, Katie, Ryan, Adam, Kristin(Rob) and Jason and a great granddaughter, Avery. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Evelyn. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 8, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial will be in Memory Gardens, Arlington Heights. Visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project.
