Erwin Louis Mueller Has Died

 

He was not on the list.


It is with great sadness that the family of Erwin Louis Mueller announce his passing on June 7, 2018, at the age of 74. He died peacefully of natural causes at his home in North Las Vegas.

He was born in Livermore, California, to Rose and Louis Mueller. He graduated from Livermore High School, where he won numerous accolades for his basketball prowess. He went on to attend the University of San Francisco, where he was awarded All-Coast, All-Conference, and All-American as a key player for the Dons' Basketball program. Selected by the Chicago Bulls in the 2nd Round (10th overall pick) of the 1966 NBA draft, he earned NBA All-Rookie Team honors his first season. Standing tall at 6 foot 8 inches he was a power forward, Erwin played 8 seasons as a professional basketball player. Upon retirement, he utilized his skills as a talented draftsman developing irrigation systems.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Karen; his sons David (Wendy) and Jim (Stephanie), his daughters Leigh (Rod) and Jenean (Steve); his sister Rose Marie (Jim) of Anchor Bay; and 6 grandchildren (Cera, Lily, Louis, Ellery, Jake and Cooper). Erwin cherished family and loved having his grandchildren, who called him “PowPow”, around him. He is lovingly remembered by all his family and friends.
