He was not on the list.
Longtime baseball broadcaster Milo Hamilton has died at 88,
the Houston Astros confirmed on Thursday.
Hamilton's cause of death was not immediately clear. He had
suffered from heart issues in recent years.
Hamilton broadcast baseball on radio and television for more
than five decades, including the 1966-75 seasons with the Atlanta Braves. His
most famous call was that of Mobile native Hank Aaron's record-breaking 715th
home run at Fulton County Stadium on April 8, 1974.
Hamilton left Atlanta after the 1975 season, and spent the
1976-79 seasons calling the Pittsburgh Pirates. He called Chicago Cubs games
from 1980-84 before moving to Houston in 1985.
Hamilton became the Astros' primary radio voice in 1987, and
remained behind the mic in Houston until retiring in 2012. He received the Ford
C. Frick Award from the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1992.
