The Temptations singer Bruce Williamson dead at 49 after coronavirus battle
He was not on the list.
The veteran crooner sang lead vocals with the legendary ‘60s group that he joined in 2006. He remained a member of the iconic R&B and soul act until 2015.
His death was mourned Monday by his son, Bruce Williamson Jr., in a tribute on Facebook.
“There’s no words in the world that can express how I feel right now,” the post reads. “I love you Daddy, thank you for being awesome thank you for being loving thank you for being Who You Are I pray to God and we will meet again. I love you Daddy.”
Williamson died in Las Vegas on Sunday night at his home after fighting COVID-19, TMZ reported.
The Temptations rose to fame in the 1960s, long before Williamson joined, on the strength of hit songs such as “My Girl” and “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg.” The group has carried on with a number of different lineups over the years, with founding member Otis Williams continuing to perform in the latest iteration of The Temptations.
Williamson was with The Temptations when the group released albums such as “Still Here” and “Back to the Front.”
