The Flash Actor Logan Williams Passes Away at 16
He was not on the list.
Young actor Logan Williams -- who played the young version of Grant Gustin's Barry Allen on The CW's The Flash -- passed away yesterday, April 2. He was 16 years old.
News of Williams' passing was broken by Canada's Tri-City News, though the cause of death has not been made public. In addition to his role on The Flash, Williams has appeared in such television series as When Calls the Heart, Supernatural and The Whispers, in addition to the TV movie The Color of Rain. He was nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2015 UBCP/ACTRA awards.
Logan's mother, Marlyse Williams, told Tri-City News the family is "absolutely devastated" by her son's passing. "I am not able to hug my parents who lost their only grandchild," she said. "It's hard... With his talent and gorgeous looks, Logan had the potential to be a huge star."
The Flash lead Grant Gustin took to Instagram to eulogize Williams as well, sharing a picture of himself, Williams and fellow Flash star Jesse L. Martin. "Just hearing the devastating news that Logan Williams has passed away suddenly," Gustin wrote. "This picture was early in the filming of The Flash pilot episode back in 2014. I was so impressed by not only Logan's talent but his professionalism on set. My thoughts and prayers will be with him and his family during what is I’m sure an unimaginably difficult time for them. Please keep Logan and his family in your thoughts and prayers during what has been a strange and trying time for us all. Sending love to everyone."
Williams was born on April 9, 2003 in Vancouver, Canada, growing up in the city of Coquitlam, British Columbia. He is survived by his mother Marlyse and father Clive, as well as his grandparents, aunts and uncles. CBR offers its deepest condolences to Logan's friends and family during this time.
