Madeleine Collinson obit

Madeleine Collinson, R.I.P.

She was not on the list.

STARBURST is very sad to learn Madeleine Collinson - one half of Hammer Films' TWINS OF EVIL has passed away aged 62.

Alongside her sister, Mary, she struck fear into and raised the blood pressure a whole generation of film fans.

Born in Malta, the sisters arrived in Britain in 1969 and instantly became a hit on the modelling circuit, and were stars of a saucy 8mm film made by infamous photographer/filmmaker George Harrison Marks. Capitalising on the uniqueness of twin glamour girls, they appeared in several other soft-core saucy films of the early '70s.

It was when Hammer cast them as the Gellhorn siblings in the 1971 film TWINS OF EVIL that their eternal fame was cemented. Their career, however, didn't last and despite a Playboy spread and modelling work, they retired from the industry, and Madeleine raised a family back in Malta.

In recent years, she had begun making appearances at signing conventions.

Madeleine married a British Royal Air Force officer and raised three children. She later moved back to Malta and was involved in cultural and educational activities there. In her final years, Madeleine Collinson lived in San Gwann, Malta.

Madeleine passed away on August 14th.

STARBURST sends our deepest sympathies to her family and friends.
