Linda Meiklejohn obit

Actress Linda Meiklejohn Has Died

She was not on the list.

Linda Meiklejohn was born on August 9, 1943 in Los Angeles, California, USA. She was an actress, known for M*A*S*H (1972), R.P.M. (1970) and Mod Squad (1968). She died on July 3, 2017.

Lt. Leslie Scorch was a recurring character who frequented Harry Blake's company in the first season of the "M*A*S*H" TV show, appearing as early as the very first episode. She was briefly a love interest for Blake, despite him being a married man. Though she was a consistent delight in the first season, Lt. Scorch was quickly written out of the series after the Season 2 premiere "Divided We Stand," never to be seen or heard from again.

Linda Meiklejohn was the only actor to play Scorch in "M*A*S*H." She appeared in episodes of "Lassie," "Mayberry R.F.D.," and "Death Valley Days" as well as the feature films "R.P.M." and "The Ballad of Josie" before joining the CBS comedy-drama. Following her exit, Meiklejohn only appeared in two other projects, a 1974 episode of Angie Dickinson's series "Police Woman" and the 1985 TV movie "A Reason to Live," which featured Ricky Schroder, Peter Fonda, and Deidre Hall. According to IMDb, Meiklejohn died in July 2017 at the age of 73.

Her father, William Meiklejohn, was a casting director who is credited with bringing Ronald Reagan to the attention of executives at Warner Brothers studio.

She was the 1974 Golden Globe Ambassador. At the time, the Ambassador was the young person who assists in the annual Golden Globe Awards presentations by handing out trophies to the winners and escorting them off stage.
